This year's Christmas Price Index is now available. Prices really went up this year, and it looks like you can definitely save by purchasing on the Net versus a retail store (5.7% increase versus 6.1%). Many of the services remained the same, it was largely products shooting up in price. One of the highest of which is gold, which shot up 27.5%. Youch.
