My MythTV box has been down for some time, largely because of an odd problem with the wireless drivers for my USB wireless card. Loading them actually causes a kernel panic, which is quite unusual. It started happening after upgrading to 2.6.12. Of course, I upgraded to that because the tv drivers I was using were having problems with the other kernel. Ugh.

In any case, I'm just going to get a new wireless card, I drug a cable out for now. I upgraded to 2.6.14, grabbed the brand new ivtv 0.4.0 drivers, and it seems to be going great.

Further, partially for me, and partially to support the MythTV development, I subscribed to the LXM Suite service. For $5 a month, you get a handful of themes, the ability to vote on what new features will be added into Myth, and you don't have to fill out a registration form every 3 months as you do when you use the free service.

Nothing mind bogglingly wonderful, and it's not particularly impressive ATM (they did have one theme I thought looked nice)... but, they do plan on growing that site, the whole concept is in a testing stage now. Those who sign up before the end of the month get locked in at $5. Everyone else will have to pay some higher amount :-)

I just finished scheduling all the weekly recordings. In doing so, I noticed the Godfather I and II will be on this Sat and next Sat. Believe it or not, I've never seen those before, I've been looking forward to that at some point. No, you don't need MythTV so watch them, but just remember that I can pause it live :-)
